A Different Approach to Learning
Being dissatisfied with the results gained from programmatic/ traditional training events motivated my effort to find better approach to workplace learning. I discovered that the focal point lies in how the learner is positioned throughout the process.
Narrative Learning programs use a narrative structure to construct a cause-effect story. In this story, a role is defined that supplies the learner with the purpose, values and motivation needed to successfully guide them through the process. Critical responsibilities, activities and competencies are provided to support the new role and relevant behaviors.

Delivering Performance
The first test of Narrative Learning changed the sales process from “order taking” to a consultative sales approach. It replaced a system that had been in place for over 25 years. Sales Representatives were asked to abandon their current behavior and accept a new role. Each current and new sales person went through the program. After the program, sales revenues doubled in a flat market, while also increasing margins and profits to record levels.
I have used the Narrative Learning structure to consistently deliver exceptional results. It works with all subject matters because the learning principle is the same. We learn best through stories.
